Greetings!
Welcome to the ACA Explorers Charity Tattoo Design Contest!
My name is Christopher. I am from the US and came to Colombia a few years ago to start a free academic charity movement: teaching kids to learn for themselves, focusing on English and personal development!

As a means of fundraising, we have come up with a crazy idea: I, the founder, will complete tattoos that relate to parts of the ACA Explorers Promise:

Current Tattoos (4) That I Want to Expand/Elaborate Upon
You can see I currently have a few elements started already:
-Astronaut, Left Bicep => To Explore My World
-Tree Stump, Right Forearm => To Examine My Self
-I+1, Left Wrist => And To Always Do My Best!
-ACA symbol, Right Wrist => ? Could be incorporated?
-MISSING: Idea for “To Treat Others How They Want”
How They Relate To The Promise
Astronaut – To Explore My World
– The astronaut is the definition of an Explorer. In his helmet, is a reflection of the clouds of Earth. His posture is one of wonder….
Lots of cool things to do here related to space, exploration, etc.
Tree Stump saying “And The Tree Was Happy” – To Examine My Self
After examining MY self, I realized that I owe everything to my parents… my favorite book growing up was The Giving Tree. Each time the tree gave to the boy they write “And the Tree Was Happy” and at the end of the book, the tree is only a stump, but still gives to the boy (as a place to sit).
My parents initials are inside because they were MY giving tree and have given me so much.
i+1 – And to Always Do My Best

By growing 1% each day (a small amount) we can make huge changes!
And so our personal development/habit system is called i+1:

IDEAS NEEDED
1 – Last part of promise = “To Treat Others How they Want” also called the ‘Platinum Rule’
2 – Expanding each of the 4 to be cooler/more impressive/more in synch with that part of the promise, and the promise as a whole
3 – Incorporating the text of the part of the promise with that part of the tattoo. This is one way that each could be identified to be as part of a whole, especially if we had some way of indicating the text, within bars maybe?
4 – Integrating it all: making it seem less like 4 disjointed pieces and more like a whole unit that flows and makes sense… there likely is an even cooler way than only relying on the text… that is why we need a design contest!
Understanding the Promise a Bit More
I, Promise…
To Explore My World, To Examine My Self, To Treat Others How They Want, and To Always Do My Best!
To Explore My World
An Explorer goes to the unknown (to learn) and comes back to share their findings (to teach). Therefore, an ACA Explorer is part student, part teacher.

To Treat Others How They Want
The “Platinum Rule” – a version of the golden rule (treat others how you want to be treated) but even better because treating people how THEY want to be treated may be different than what you would want…
Color Schemes
Not necessarily crucial – as we see in my current tattoos – but could provide some inspiration if we make it work well. So don’t think this is necessary at all, but just extra information.
Black. I have very light skin so not all colors show up well (see yellow in i+1). Colors could be cool if done right, especially with some of the cool astronaut/space stuff.
If we want to pair the colors for ACA with the promise, the colors we use for everything in ACA are:
Most important Blue-#1986C8 & Green-#8DC046 & Red-#E8471C & Yellow-#E9C112
You can see how we use these colors everywhere. However as we see on my left wrist with i+1, likely need to outline everything especially the yellow in black so it shows up on my whiter-colored skin.
